Kanban

Sad news that Kanban have gone in to liquidation.  This is an homage to them.  The backing paper is from their last paper pad from the dogs set.  I stacked the topper with silicone gel.  I cut a border from the paper pad and stuck it in the middle. I placed the topper down and then added two sentiments from the Dogs kit.  The flower stems are from a Cheery lynn die (can't remember which one).  A simple card but pretty, at least I think.  Thank you for visiting my blog.

Indigo Blu

Last night I sat down and made these two cards with my Indigo Blu 'Live, love, laugh set' stamps.    The first card I matted and layered white card onto mirror board.   I stamped the flowers with Versamark onto white card and heat embossed them with black embossing powder and then cut them all out.  I mounted them with silicone gel onto the matts.  I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed with black embossing powder.

The next card i stamped the Indigo Blu flourish pattern with versamerk and sentiment with archival black ink. and  then dabbed pan pastels over the top to bring out the flourish pattern. I matted and layered them onto gold mirror card.  I then stamped out the flowers, leaves and bird and coloured them in with Spectrum Noir pens.  I cut them all out and layered them up with silicone gel.

New Tonic 'Flava die

The background was trimmed to size, corners rounded.  I cut out 2 Tonic 'Flava' diecuts and trimmed the bottom and butterfly off one. I placed them down the side and across the bottom to set a half frame to the Kanban topper.  I then added the ribbon and dazzler gem and Kanban sentiment.

Ink and pastels

The cards above have a background created by inking through a mask with distress inks. Die cuts, toppers  and ribbon were added.

This cards background was created differently.  I stamped with versamark ink and indigo blu flourish stamp onto the card. I brushed on pan pastels over the top and the pastels stuck to the ink creating a pretty background.  The diecut flower is the new Tonic die 'Flava'.

Stamping and embossing.

I've always liked stamping and embossing when I sw it on other people's cards and after watching some lovely demos from the lovely Sam Poole and Julia Watts I thought i'd give it a go myself.  I used the Indigo Blu flourish stamp and the flower stamp is by Creative Expressions.  I stamped the flourish stamp a couple of times using a watermark ink pad and used an antique gold embossing powder.    I then die cut the flowers out with my spellbinder flower die and cut the large flower in half and painted on mica powders on the flower die cuts.  I cut round the flourish stamp to make a border.  I embossed the background card with my Spellbinders A4 dotty folder.  The teal coloured card has another background paper which has been pin pricked all around the edge with a Tim Holtz pricking ruler.  The corners on the teal card were rounded off with a Tonic corner rounder punch.  The cards were finished off with ribbon and coloured net and a Creative Expressions dazzler.
