Mixed Media canvas

Well here it is, my first attempt at a mixed media canvas.  What a laugh I had making it with a friend who made one too.  I'm sorry it's a little child like but I think I started too big making this large canvas.

I used Mod Podge to stick all the elements on, what a fab product it is.  It stuck the wood, moss, flowers, tissue paper, clay dragonflies and lace on no problem.

Sentiment focal point.

Hello everyone.  Today's card is created with a few more spellbinder dies and creative expressions stamp.

First i cut the frame out of my piece of card and then put it in my A4 embossing folder.

I stamped out the frame with my creative expressions stamp and then cut it out with the corresponding die.  I stamped out a sentiment and cut it out with a smaller die and then used my distress inks round the edges while still in the die.

I cut out some aster flowers and leaves in white and coloured card and layered the flowers up and glued together.

Now for assembly.  I first placed the stamped frame down onto my base card.  I put foam tape onto the backing card and wrapped some ribbon round before sticking the card down onto the base card.  I stuck the  sentiment down over the frame  with foam tape. and then stuck the flower and leaves on. To finish off I added a ribbon bow and some gems in each corner of the card.

Thank you for taking time to look at my blog and please feel free to comment.

Spellbinders

Spellbinders dies make the most beautiful cards. I am not a professional by any means, infact i'm a relative newbie and still learning.  Here I have created a card with the Adourning squares.  I cut two out in white card.  My background card I first cut out the square shape and then embossed with a spellbinder A4 folder (can't remember the name).  I cut a piece of purple and teal printed backing paper from Kanban to go in the recess of the aperture cut out and stuck it onto the base card.  I cut out a strip of the Kanban card and punched it out with a tonic border punch and stick it to the card.  I added foam tape onto the embossed card and wrapped some ribbon around it and then stuck it to the base card.  I put foam tape to the back of the two adourning square die cuts and placed them onto the card over the aperture. I cut out the smallest of the Adourning squares and staped a sentiment onto the centre.

I cut out some Spellbinder aster flowers in white card and the Kanban card and layered them up to make one big flower.  I added a small pearl to the centre.  I cut out 3 leaves from the Asters set and stuck them onto the card and the the flower on top. I added two stick pins to decorate.

Grunge cards

Hello there fellow crafter's.  I decided to go out of my comfort zone and make some grunge cards.  Not my usual 'pretty' cards but enjoyed doing them.  I created the backgrounds by putting some different colour distress inks onto my glass cutting mat and spritzing with a little bit of water. I swooshed 2 pieces of card through to give a grungy coloured background.

The first card I used my crackle background stamp on the top section of the card and my Visable Image grunge flourish stamp at the bottom.  On the other piece of card i'd coloured I cut out some Spellbinder Aster flowers.  I also cit out some flowers using an old book page which I stippled on some distress ink and.I also stamped some butterlfies onto the page with my small Visable Image butterfly stamp and cut them out.  I stamped out the Visable Image 'Live Your dreams' stamp onto red card and cut it out and put some 3d foam pads on the back and assembled all the elements.

My 2nd card I created the background colour as the 1st and then just stamped the flourish on the bottom.  I stamped the butterflies out of a 2nd grungy background i made and cut them out. I stamped the wording straight onto the card.  I then took some small strips of card and rolled them up to created a spiral and stuck then down with cosmic shimmer glue. and added the butterflies.

Hope you like them.  Thank you for visitng my blog and please feel free to comment.
Thank you.

Masking

I tried masking off when stamping today for the first time. Of course silly me thought i would be clever and do double stamping too.  Never mind it turned out sort of ok.  I used Visible Image stamps for this project.

First i stamped my sentiment and cut it out with my spellbinder die.  I then put a very small piece of double sided tape on the back and positioned it in the centre of my base layer.  I then stamped my rose out onto a post it note at the top where the sticky part is and cut it out through 2 pieces.  This is my mask.

Now I stamped over the top of the sentiment and base layer.  I then put the mask over the top of the stamped image and stamped again to the side of the  first image. when peeling off the mask the 2nd one looks like it's at the back of the fist image.  I repeated this all the way round till i only had room for one more stamp.  I then placed masks on either side of where i was going to stamp and then stamped.

I then cut out another gold mirror board layer and glued the base layer on top,.  I added foam tape to the back of the sentiment and aligned it over the base layer.

Now this is what i did wrong. I should've put silicone on instead of foam tape as once you put it down that's it and you cannot move it and i noticed it wasn't quite lined up.  Anyway you learn by your mistakes.  I know people don't show their mistakes but i think it's a way of showing learners what not to do.

I then stamped butterflies out and stippled distress inks with my Inkylicious Ink Dusters.  I cut them out and shaped them with my bone folder and stuck them with glue gel.

Classic

Hi everyone here is today's card made with my new Visable Image stamps.

This is my second entry in the 'Get stamping with Visible Image' competition.  Click here to see their blog

I started by using the crackle stamp on a piece of white card. I used 2 Tim Holtz distress inks and then used my Inkylicious Ink duster to stippled ink all over the card. I cut the corners out with my Woodware reverse corner punch.  I then wrapped some brown ribbon round the crad and matted it onto the card blank.

I then stamped out the car topper twice on a piece of white card and cut one out with my spellbinder rectangle die .  While the card topper was in the die i stippled round with my ink duster and and cut round the car on the other stamped image with my scissors  I cut out another rectangle next size up in brown card and matter the car topper onto it.

I stamped my Classic sentiment out and cut it out with my Nellie snellen die and then once again inked it whilst still in the die.

I matted them all on the card with glue gel to give dimension and decoupaged the car cut out onto the topper.

Visible Image 'Get Stamping' challenge

Below is my entry to the Visible Image 'Get Stamping with Visible Image' challenge
Click here to see their blog   I've never entered a competition before but someone on Facebook said I should enter the card from my previous post. Well I couldn't enter that one because it wasn't stamped properly and it didn't have the Visible Image sentiment.  So i remade the card and added the Visible Image sentiment stamp.  I also added foam pads to each layer to add dimension.  It's a very basic card but i'm a newbie at stamping and am quite proud of this one.

Triple stamping

A technique I learned today. As you know i'm very new to stamping and this is a practice card. I know i shouldn't be showing a not perfect card but i think people might want to see and why it happened and what to do to fix it.

I cut three pieces of cream card and three pieces of brown card to matt onto.  I then placed very very small pieces of double sided tape on the back in the middle of the three pieces of cream card and matted onto each other.

I then started to stamp over the matted cards so the design went over all three pieces.  As you can see top right it didn't take properly.  I tried again bottom right and again didn't take so stamped over it again but it gave a double stamp effect cos i didn''t align it up correctly. So i thought i would try a cushion effect and got my mouse mat out and put it under the card.  I stamped again and low and behold it stamped properly.  the cushioning worked.  So i kept stamping til i finshed my design.

I then took them off the top of each other and matted each one on the dark card and matted them again so the design was matched back up. .  I then tied some bakers twine around and fastened a button on with a bow.  I then put some foam pads on the back and attached it to the card blank and added a gem in each corner.

So folks that's my not perfect card but i think i needed to show you what not to do.

Have a lovely day and thank you for visiting my blog.

Visible Image stamps

This is very diverse from my usual cards but i thought i'd give it a go.  The background was created by putting distress inks onto a craft mat and spritzing with cosmic shimmer mica mists.  i then placed the card on top and splodged it around and then dried it off.  I stamped randomly with  creative expressions honeycomb stamp and visable image's music stamp.  I matted onto brown card and wrapped a ribbon round the mats. Then I matted it all onto a white card blank.  The words (Visable Image stamp) were stamped onto a piece of card and cut out then added to the background card with foam tape. I stamped out the flowers (Visible Image roses stamp)  and leaf (Indigo blu stamp). and coloured in with spectrum noir pens then mounted with silicone gel.

Another Indigo Blu

Been messing about with my Indigo Blu stamps again. I used the Vintage Flourish stamp and the flowers from the Live Laugh Love stamp set.  I stamped the flourish twice onto white card in black archival ink.  I rounded the corners and then matted onto an A5 card.  I stamped out the flowers and leaves from the stamp set and coloured in with spectrum Noir pens.  I then cut them out and stuck then onto the card with silicone Gel glue.  I finished with black gems in each corner.
